Original Philly Cheesesteak Recipe...how do I love thee? It's really, really hard to count the ways! Quick, easy, cheesy, and loaded with veggies this cheesesteak recipe is downright delicious!
2lbsshaved beef steak or thinly sliced rib eye, sirloin, or flank
½lbprovolone cheese
6Italian rollslong roll/hero
Instructions
Heat some olive oil in a large skillet and add your peppers and onions (and mushrooms if you're using). Season them with a little salt, pepper and garlic powder. When they're soft, transfer them to a bowl and set aside.
Add your steak and season with some salt and pepper. Cook, separating the shaved pieces, for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes lightly browned. Don't overcook the meat.
Add your veggies back into the pan and mix until thoroughly combined.
Cover the meat and vegetables with the provolone cheese right on top and let it melt. If you want it cheesier, once the cheese has melted, give it a good stir and then add another layer on top.
Notes
Throw it all on a soft (and toasted if you prefer) Italian hero and enjoy!
